Shoes | UNIF 'Pyro' Platforms

 UNIF 'Pyro' Platforms via DollsKill

Hi lovelies! So I have yet another pair of UNIF pair of platforms. These were on super clearance on DollsKill and I couldn't resist. They're really similar to my UNIF Grail Platforms, alright so they're basically the same.

Shoes | Dr. Martens 1461 Classic

Dr Marten 1461 Classic Oxford in Black

Hi lovelies! So it's been a while since I have welcomed a new pair of shoes into my wardrobe. I'm not quite sure what brought on this restraint, but I have to admit I have been more than content with my current collection.

Shoes | UNIF 'Gosh' Boot

UNIF 'Gosh' Boots via DollsKill

Hi lovelies! So I was holding off on showing you this pair of shoes, but I can't put off wearing them in outfit posts any longer. I bought this pair of shoes at the same time as the UNIF 'Lost Sole' Boots from DollsKill. I couldn't choose between the two pairs, and a sneaky 30% off code prompted me to get both.

Shoes | UNIF 'Lost Sole' Boots

Hi lovelies! Just a quick post from me today about my new shoe obsession from UNIF. Now it may seem a bit strange to be buying black boots in the middle of the Australian summer, but I'm really not a sandals kind of girl.

Shoes | London Rebel Stereo

London Rebel Stereo in Black and White - available here

Welcome to Brisbane, where the summer sandal hauling starts in September and never seems to end. About a week ago Jess walked into my work wearing these beauties in white. We then proceeded to walk back to where she bought them (earlier that day) where I purchased both of these on the spot.

Shoes | Jeffrey Campbell Siobhan

Jeffrey Campbell Siobhan in Black (available here)

Hi lovelies! Welcome to the latest episode of 'Jess is addicted to buying things'. Alright so it isn't the catchiest of names, but it is fairly appropriate. Recently Karmaloop were mean and sent a 40% off coupon direct to my email inbox. What's a girl supposed to do? These shoes were already on sale and with the added discount were a downright steal.

Shoes | UNIF Grail Platforms

UNIF Grail Platforms (available here and here and also here)

Hi lovelies! You remember how I mentioned I've been splurging on shoes lately ...yeah here's the latest damage. As soon as I saw these shoes on UNIF's instagram I was obsessed. Sadly there was virtually nothing written about them online, even the UNIF website didn't tell me how tall the shoes were. Eventually Solestruck came to my rescue and the shoes a 4.5 inches with a 2.75 inch platform.

Shoes | Jeffrey Campbell Meyer Light-Up Sneaker

Hi lovelies! So up until recently I had been very good (by my standards) and had not purchased any new shoes. Well that has gone rapidly downhill in the last two or three weeks and I'll be posting reviews of all the pairs as they arrive. I blame the crazy sale prices and Urban Outfitters' free shipping.

Now I am not generally a fan of sneakers, particularly the thousand and one Isabel Marant wedged sneaker lookalikes that were floating about last year. However these shoes are different. These shoes light up!

Review | Jeffrey Campbell Foxy Wood

Hi lovelies! What is up with the weather at the moment? Yesterday was all gorgeous sunshine and today it's dreary and grey and all I want to do is snuggle up in bed. Sadly university starts back today, so I have been forced into the outside world. In an attempt to inject some sunshine into my day I decided to photograph these shoes for you. They never fail to make me smile and I love wearing them in summer.

Thankfully it will soon be warm enough to wear them, as they don't get much love in the wintertime. Neon peep toes, light wood, and black tights sadly don't mix. These are the Jeffrey Campbell Foxy Wood in Neon Orange. One of JC's staple shoes they are always new designs of these being pumped out.

Shoes | UNIF Hellbounds

Hi lovelies! If you follow us on instagram then you may have noticed that I recently purchased the UNIF Hellbounds. I have been obsessed with them since they arrived, but wanted to give them a thorough testing before reviewing them on the blog.

Here are the stats for you: three inch platform, six inch heel, and the black pair comes with three sets of laces. These are a big pair of shoes. In these I reach over six foot... and I'm usually 5ft6". I have to admit that I love the height boost they give though, they'll definitely get you noticed.

The End of an Era

Jeffrey Campbell Tardys in Black Leather, Blue Leather and Black and Yellow Pony Fur

It's no secret that I love Jeffrey Campbell shoes. However even I didn't realise quite how many pairs I have managed to collect over the last 2 years. I have sixteen pairs of his shoes to my name and I think the time has come for me to let some of them go.

My tastes have changed a lot since I first started wearing heels. I was a wedge lover and loved clomping about in my JC Tardys. Now I have definitely been converted to Team Lita and there I shall stay.

Jeffrey Campbell 99 Ties

Hi Lovelies! Today I'm doing a review of the shoes that started it all. The Jeffrey Campbell 99 Ties in Red Glitter. These were my very very first ever pair of Jeffreys and what a pair I chose (if I do say so myself). Almost two years later these are still my favourite pair of JCs and I often will take them out of their box just to stare at them.

Before I discovered Litas I was browsing on Solestruck and saw these shoes. They were red, they were shiny and they were on sale. They immediately went into my shopping cart and I've never looked back.

UNIF Grim Creepers

As promised in Monday's OOTD (link here) here are my thoughts on my latest pair of shoes from UNIF. I am a huge UNIF fangirl their designs always impress me and always manage to deplete my bank balance. This isn't the first time I've blogged about creepers (link here), but I feel these shoes are more like oxfords than creepers with the much subtler platform. This means that they'll outlast the creeper fad and remain very wearable for a long, long time.

I bought these babies from an online store called Dolls Kill. I cannot recommend this website highly enough, particularly for my Australian readers. Four day express shipping for $20? Yes please!

These shoes like all my UNIF pieces are exceptionally well made. The leather is fantastic quality and the spikes are very securely fitted. There is also a packet of spare spikes should you ever need. Like all leather shoes they were a bit stiff for the first couple wears, but now they're broken in there's no rubbing to speak of and they're super comfy. One thing I definitely prefer about this set of creepers is how much lighter they are than my T.U.K. pair.

I got these in a US 8. I prefer to get my flats in 8s and already owning the Hellraisers (link here) I figured that would be the best option. Annoyingly UNIF don't do half-sizes in their shoes, but I would say that if you're between sizes to opt up rather than down as the shoes are fairly narrow at the front. Also good news these shoes are also made in men's sizes, so you and your bf can wander round in matching footwear, infinitely cooler than matching t-shirts.

Although I was not a fan of them initially the quality of both my UNIF shoes has me contemplating a pair of Hellbounds.

Any suggestions as to colour?

Jess xx

Jeffrey Campbell Back Offs

So today's post was in serious jeopardy of not existing. I'm not sure if it's featured much on non-Australian news but there is some serious flooding happening in my area of South East Queensland. I was without power for about 24 hours and I am beyond thankful that that is the worst my family will experience. For everyone facing floodwaters I wish you all the best and that your lives can get up and running again soon.

Right, back to shoes. These are the Jeffrey Campbell Back Offs. As a JC hoarder personally I wouldn't consider my collection complete without these shoes. Made famous by Black Milk these shoes are an awesome piece.

To me they are combination of combat and figure-skating boots. Sounds weird but somehow it works. These are also the JCs I am most comfortable with wearing in the day time. They're only an inch shorter than Litas, but somehow that makes a big difference in my mind. In terms of comfort these are some of the best JCs I own. I have worn these all day and all night and my feet were right as rain.

Mine were purchased from Solestruck, after they had been out of stock for forever. These are one of the few JCs I didn't wait to go on sale, as like the original Black Litas I don't think Mr Campbell will stop selling these. The boots are in a US7 and I find that they fit perfectly. In this instance I think a US7.5 would have been slightly too large.

The only disappointment I have with these shoes is that the silver leather has crumpled on both shoes. This has been a complaint made by many on the Solestruck page, and even though I "waterproof" all my shoes I, unfortunately, faced the same issue. For a shoe that retails at around $170 I think the metal used on the Cap Litas (review here) could have been used for the Back Offs.

Overall though the creasing doesn't affect the appearance of the shoes when you see them from a distance. As you can see in the above photos my favourite way to wear the shoes is laced most of the way up with the extra lace tied around my ankle. I find the laces on the boots to be really long and this is just the simplest way for my lazy self to tie them.

Stay safe in the floods everyone and I'll see you all on Friday

Jess xx
