OOTD | Blue Gold

Denim Dungarees - thrifted / Sheer Magenta Blouse - thrifted / Argo platform sandals - Jeffery Campbell / Amethyst pendant - Corky Saint Clair

Here I go again with my denim obsession. I'm sorry, I can't be helped but I don't know if there are any more pieces out there to purchase. These are another long lusted over and hunted for item. Long denim dungarees have been in stores and 'in style' the last season or so but I couldn't commit to any I had seen. Believing in fate is a huge part of thrifting so waiting for the item to find you gives me a huge sense of accomplishment. These dungarees were literally just placed on the rack by the shop volunteer when I snatched them up; meant to be.

OOTD | Wild Fox

Leather Jacket Charlie Brown / Jumper Wildfox via Dragonberry / Shorts American Apparel / Socks Asos / Shoes UNIF 'Lost Sole' Boots

Hi lovelies! At last it is cold enough to wear multiple layers. Currently I am sitting at my desk wrapped up snug. Unfortunately my house is hopeless at retaining heat. I bought this jumper a while ago at a Dragonberry sample sale.

Review | The Body Shop Aloe Protective Serum

As I recently mentioned in my beauty wish list, I have wanted to try the Aloe Protective Serum by The Body Shop since Estée from Essie Button put this in one of her monthly beauty favourites. I've been using a similar product called Hydraluron by Indeed Laboratories for the best part of a year now and am definitely converted to using a product before my moisturiser to increase its effect. My normal face moisturiser is oil free and therefor needs all the help it can get; I even combine it with a few drops of rose-hip oil in the evenings.

When my Hydraluron ran out recently I decided I would purchase this as a moisture boosting replacement. It is the same volume but about $12 cheaper... and when all your products run out at the same time that makes all the difference. The dispenser on this product gives a well portioned dosage each time and I think more likely to drain every last drop.

So far my use of this product has been mostly successful and positive. My skin hasn't reacted badly and the amount of moisture I was receiving from Hydraluron use has been maintained. The scent is semi-perplexing but perhaps I am simply not accustomed to aloe. It isn't awful just unusual. I also appreciate that the ingredients are slightly (not hugely) more natural than Hydraluron. The feeling of the product on the skin also feels more moisturising and less tacky than I am used to.

This wasn't meant to be a comparison post but it seems that is how it has turned out. If you know of any other moisture boosting products (available in Australia) feel free to let me know in the comments. I definitely recommend this, especially because we are headed to windier weather here in Brisbane and extra moisture on your face is beyond necessary.

Happy Wednesday beauty lovers!

Review | Models Prefer Slanted Liner

Hi lovelies! I've always loved winged eyeliner and over the years have tested many brands' options. I tend to favour liquid formulas, as I find them the fastest to work with. Models Prefer is a brand that I am not super familiar with, but I was in the mood for something different last time I ran out of eyeliner.

OOTD | Born In The Wrong Era

White Dress - Box Vintage / Pastel Pink Pullover - Ra Ra Superstar / Acid Wash Denim Jacket by Indiana Blues -  thrifted via Lifeline / Loafers - Shag Vintage / White Socks - Target / Sunglasses - Sportsgirl / Gold Bangle - gift

Happy days are upon us. Winter is slowly emerging of a never ending summer and I have finally found my most lusted after wardrobe staple; a denim jacket! I don't think I have been as ecstatic about a clothing purchase since I bought my first pair of high waisted jeans or Dr. Martens. I found this beauty in my local thrift store for $6 which makes the experience even better. This find makes me so glad that I waited instead of forking out the $50+ price that a lot of vintage resellers have on their denim jackets. Is is super good quality and I hope it will be in my possession for eternity.

OOTD | Green with Envy

Vintage Levi Denim Jacket / Shirt Thrifted / MinkPink Leather Shorts / Beanie eBay / Shoes UNIF Lost Sole Boots

Hi lovelies! Now that weather has finally cooled down I have been having a great time rediscovering the pieces that were too hot to face in the summer. When I initially purchased these leather shorts I barely took them off, and I am so glad to be able to wear them. They make for an essential staple piece for night and day.

Playlist | Warm Chills

The cold seems to be settling down here in Brisbane. Nights are chilly and best spent with tea and blankets. These are the current tunes warming my heart and soul when nothing can warm my toes and nose.

Happy Wednesday!

Skin | Winter Hand Cream Essentials

Winter means a lot of things but one of the least favourable is dry skin. The skin on my hands is dry and damaged at the best of times (no matter what product I use) but winter is particularly bad. I have purchased and tried a lot of different hand creams in my life and have put a collection of what I think to be the best of the bunch. Some are on the the go at the moment and some are definitely on my list of options when purchasing more.

Winter Essentials | Purple Lipstick

Top to Bottom: Revlon Matte Balm in 'Shameless' MUA Luxe Velvet Lips in 'Kooky' Sleek Matte Me in 'Fandango Purple'

Hi lovelies! So whilst referring to a shade of lipstick as essential is a little extreme, I am really loving a purple lip in the cooler weather. It makes for a nice alternative to deep reds. I also like the range of variety you can get.

OOTD | Evil Twin

Dress Evil Twin via DollsKill / Leather Jacket Charlie Brown / Choker eBay / Shoes UNIF Grail Platforms

Hi lovelies! This is a dress that I bought absolutely ages ago from DollsKill. Although I've worn it loads, it just never got around to being photographed. This is just such an easy dress to wear. It's completely sheer so for a bit of modesty I wear mine with a slip underneath.

The Wish List | For The Face #2

It has been a while since I last did a wish list and, being a cosmetic and skincare addict, I have come to lust after many more products. The first is a skincare product and the rest are makeup for the eyes; my favourite and most hoarded products. Sadly, most of the products are hard to come by in Australia or at least at a reasonable price (shipping to this continent can be a massive bitch).

Aloe Protective Serum by The Body Shop

I saw Estée from Essie Button put this product in her January Favourites a few months back and have wanted to try it since. Currently, I use Hydraluron by Indeed Laboratories as a moisture booster between cleansing and moisturising. I love the concept and it works really effectively but am keen to try other companies attempts. Having not purchased a lot from The Body Shop before I like to look to a self-confessed addict before considering their products.

Ideally, I've been searching for a slightly more affordable product but I don't think that will ever come to fruition. At under $30 for a product used to sparingly, I think this will enter my bathroom cabinet in the coming weeks as my Hydraluron runs out.

Recipe | Sweet Potato Fries

Hi lovelies! So just because I don't think I've mentioned it enough in recent posts I am currently in the midst of university exams. As a result everything I've been cooking has been really quick and simple. These chunky sweet potato fries make a great side dish, or just to share with friends.

OOTD | Dress in Denim

Denim Dress - vintage via Ra Ra Superstar / White STEREO Sandals - London Rebel / Bent Spoon Pendant - Noosa Antique Upcycle Artisan / Glasses - eBay / Gold Bangle - gift with unknown brand / Rose hair-clip -

Blue denim is one of my favourite fabrics. It makes all kinds of clothes and I like to think I own a fair amount; shorts, jeans, chambray shirts, overalls and dresses (sadly, no jacket). I found this dress last weekend whilst rummaging through Ra Ra Superstar's court yard sale - see haul here
