OOTD | Born In The Wrong Era

White Dress - Box Vintage / Pastel Pink Pullover - Ra Ra Superstar / Acid Wash Denim Jacket by Indiana Blues -  thrifted via Lifeline / Loafers - Shag Vintage / White Socks - Target / Sunglasses - Sportsgirl / Gold Bangle - gift

Happy days are upon us. Winter is slowly emerging of a never ending summer and I have finally found my most lusted after wardrobe staple; a denim jacket! I don't think I have been as ecstatic about a clothing purchase since I bought my first pair of high waisted jeans or Dr. Martens. I found this beauty in my local thrift store for $6 which makes the experience even better. This find makes me so glad that I waited instead of forking out the $50+ price that a lot of vintage resellers have on their denim jackets. Is is super good quality and I hope it will be in my possession for eternity.

OOTD | Pastel Bells and Cockle Shells

Pastel Shift Dress - Box Vintage / Cream Over-shirt - thrifted / Black Riding Boots - Greg Grant Saddlery

Another quick outfit post from me today, lovelies. I've really been working my way through my retro summer dresses recently. This is another oldie but a goodie and I thought it was about time it featured on the blog. As one of the first dresses I purchased from Box Vintage this definitely saw the beginning and blossoming of my love affair with vintage clothing.

If you look back to the last outfit I posted my obsession with miniature floral patterns will be blindingly evident. I love how petals work to fit in with each other and the complimentary colour selection in the fabric. I am also fairly partial to the cute button details on the shoulders.

The cream over-shirt is a staple also yet to feature on the blog. We know I love over-shirts and this was about $1 from a thrift-shop; paying more for some simple and easy to find basics is something I have trouble justifying.

Thats all for today, hope you're all having a good week!

Buy Nothing New Month | Hunting for Vintage

In a month where I've pledged to do buy nothing new I must admit that hunting for and buying second hand and vintage clothing is one of my favourite past times. I often get a lot of questions about where I find my clothes, finding them for the right price and getting the right fit. I thought, in tune with Buy Nothing New Month, that I would bestow some of my own personal methods of hunting down quality vintage as well as sharing with you some of my most beloved and treasured pieces.

OOTD | I-Died (When I found this Maxi)

Tie-Dye Print Maxi Dress - Vintage sourced via Box Vintage / Off-white blouse - Thrifted / Cherry Dr. Martens - secondhand via GumTree / Straw Sun Hat - Thrifted / Sunglasses - Sportsgirl / Lipstick Shade 106 - Lasting Finish by Kate for Rimmel

If you read Jess' post on Monday you'll be aware that we took advantage of a beautiful Sunday afternoon this week and got some outfit photos done in my new backyard. This weekend was also fairly warm and (I hope) signifies the end of a seemingly never-ending Winter. I took the chance to whip out this gorgeous tie-dye print maxi dress that I purchased the day before on a fairly regular whimsical journey around West End. Box Vintage is a Brisbane based (but also online) vintage store that I never enter unless I am ready to empty my wallet. I have never managed to leave without buying something and they're always beautiful staple or statement pieces in my wardrobe for years to come. This maxi dress is no different.

OOTD | Wearable Blanket

Jacket - Box Vintage / Chambray Shirt - Thrifted / Raglan Shirt - PulpKitchen from Dangerfield / Black High Waisted Skinny Jeans - Gorman / Brown Leather Boots - R.M. Williams

Every morning I get up for work it seems to be getting colder and colder. Last weekend I found the solution for not wanting to get out of bed. The only vintage store in Brisbane guaranteed to squeeze money out of my very tight wallet, Box Vintage, provided me with some much needed Saturday satisfaction. I walked in looking for a denim jacket and was fairly unimpressed with the offerings but found this amazing jacket instead. Not only is the wickedly kitsch fabric fashioned into a classic 80s bomber style but the entirety of this coat is lined with what feels like pillow stuffing. I fell in love instantly and knew if I didn't purchase it on the spot I would regret it forever.
