OOTD | Comfort in Check

Lace Top - thrifted via Uniting Church Thrift Shop / highwaisted check shorts - thrifted via Salvation Army / tote - handmade via Uniting Church Thrift Shop / loafers - second hand via Shag Vintage / bent spoon pendant - Noosa Antique Upcycle Artisan / sunglasses - Sportsgirl

If you're not in Brisbane, or Australia for that matter, let me inform you that it has been sweltering hot these last few weeks. Jess and I are rather big fans of iced black coffee, not only to keep cool but it's a bonus, and I wore this on our last coffee date. I found these shorts a week ago and am so obsessed with them. They are ridiculously comfortable, light weight and the perfect size. For $2, I would buy a pair for every day of the week if they  existed. I am contemplating investing in the creation of one or more duplicates; but we shall see.

The rest of my oufit is just me attempting to stay as cool as possible. I love how this lace top lets the air through but isn't see-through and doesn't show too much skin. I found both the top and the tote bag in the same thrift shop many years ago and it remains my favourite store to this day; the location a secret to most of my op shopping friends.

I hope you're all keeping cool and staying out of the sun.

Happy Sunday!

OOTD | Check Mate

Dress Thrifted / Socks Thrifted / Shoes UNIF 'Lost Sole' Boots

Hi lovelies! It's funny the things you find in thrift stores. Back at the start of summer I was set on finding a checked button up maxi dress. I even spent over $100 on one from UNIF but the fit wasn't quite right so I returned it.

Review | Japanese Brow Pencil

Is it Wednesday already? This week is flying by so quickly. So, I've been thinking, seeing as it is new to me, I should share what I've been doing with brows of late. I've been trying this medium brown brow pencil that I scored in Daiso (a cheap $2.80 Japanese store) and have been really impressed with it. I thought that perhaps at that price it would just be something I would use to experiment with the whole 'filled in brow' concept but the product itself is actually fairly great.

It is a fairly accurate colour for my hair and wears for a surprisingly long time which is normally at least a twelve hour wear. It conveniently comes with its own little spooly brush on the other end and a spare lid. Also, I am a big fan of pencil products that are self-sharpening. Nothing annoys me more than having to sharpen product when you're in a rush or the feeling of a blunt tip against my skin.

If you, like myself, have never ventured into the world of brows, it's totally not worth being afraid and is quite addictive once you get going.

All in all, if you see this product around (probably not likely) it is much more impressive than its price tag. However, when I do run out I will probably be searching for another brow product so if you know of any that I should hunt down and try let me know in the comments.

See you on Sunday!

OOTD | Pottering

Potter's Field Check Shirt by Mink Pink - from Dissh / High Neck Burgandy Shift by Faithfull - from Dissh / Sunglasses - Sportsgirl / 8-Eye Boots - Dr. Martens

I have recently splurged quite a bit on clothes not found in op shops. Gasp! Shock! Horror! I found this super adorable daisy print flannel by Mink Pink and couldn't get it out of my mind. I scored it for super cheap as well when Dissh were having a 30% off all Mink Pink for a few days a while back. I paid $48 for this in a medium it so if you find it elsewhere for a higher price (like I've seen since purchasing it) don't pay and find a good price - it is only a flannel shirt after all.

Review | Designer Brands' Twist 'n' Go Instant Nail Polish Remover

Designer Brands' Twist 'n' Go Instant Nail Polish Remover

I'm totally with Jess on this recent trend of product names getting longer and longer and longer. This product is the closest to Bourjois' Magic Nail Polish Remover that I've found in Australia. Every morning I pass the cheapie bin at Terry White's Chemist and every morning I am tempted. I walked past this particular product for several days before realising what is was and how much I needed to test its quality. For $4.99, I didn't have reason to say no.

How-To | Temporary Hair Chalk

Unless you've been living under a rock recently, you'll have noticed that temporary hair colour has been a big trend recently. Many a hair care company have been releasing coloured chalk promising vibrant, temporary colour. However, these retail upwards of $10 for one colour. Having a strict uniform code I didn't want to sink a lot of money into something I could only use infrequently. Thankfully eBay came to my rescue where you can pick up a pack starting from $2.99

I couldn't find the exact pack I used, but they all work in much the same way. Find out how they work best after the jump.

OOTD | $15 Outfit

 Shirt $3 Thrifted / Skirt $5 Barkins / Backpack $7 Thrifted / Shoes T.U.K. Mondo Creepers

Hi lovelies! Another day, another outfit post. This time I thought I would try for something a little different. I often can get caught up in the more expensive pieces that I own (and love) and I forget about the thrifty bargains I have snapped up over the years.
