OOTD | Gingham Style

Blue Gingham Nighty - Thrifted / Cream Button-up - Thrifted / 'Cherry Red' Dr. Martens - via Gumtree / Lips - Galaxy Apocalips by Rimmel London

On a list of fabrics perfect for days full of sun, high temperatures and humidity, seersucker ranks pretty high. This nighty, found thrifting, is one of the dresses I want to wear everywhere throughout the summer months. It might be made for sleeping in but it works as a super cute summer dress as well. However, because of my super pale skin and the lack of shoulder coverage this dress provides, I like to wear it with an over-shirt when outdoors.

I think I've said it many times before but I love layering with open button-ups. A summer dress and an over-shirt is probably one of my favourite combinations. Always wanting to cover up my skin but remain cool in the heat is incredibly important in this weather.

With keeping cool in mind you'd probably think it weird that I continue to wear boots through summer. I wear boots everyday to work and love how comfortable they are and can often find sandals uncomfortable after a few hours.  If headed out on an adventure, I know that boots won't let me or my feet down.

Hope any of you suffering through this incredibly stick Brisbane weekend are keeping cool. My fan, iced water and I are having some serious bonding time.
