OOTD | Fancy Free Florals

Grey V-Neck - BONDS / Pastel Floral Maxi Skirt - Thrifted / Brown Leather Waist Belt - Thrifted / Crochet Sun Hat - Woolgoolga Markets / Sunglasses - Sportsgirl / Boots - R.M. Williams / White Socks - Target / Name Plate Necklace - Gift / Lips - Clinique Chubby Stick in Watermelon

As the days warm up and the sun beats down you're beginning to see a lot more of my favourite pieces. The paler and floral-er colours are my favourite to wear and it is this time of year that allows for such feminine looks. I took this weekend date with Jess to don one of my 'cuter' outfits for a little while so I thought I'd share it with you.

Seasonals | Beach Essentials

Sorry for the late post today, I've spent the last few days enjoying and remembering a wonderful long weekend mostly spent at the beach. Queenslanders had the pleasure of a long weekend and utilise it I did. Tara and I took two trips up to the beautiful Sunshine coast on Saturday and Monday and I thought I'd share with you how I went about packing the essentials.

OOTD | Oh How Hibiscus

Sandbank Dress - Gorman / long tweed coat - thrifted / 70 denier black opaque tights - VooDoo / sunglasses - Sportsgirl / tan suede boots - Windsor Smith

How I wish the weather was still as beautiful as it was in these photos. Winter is such a confusing time of year because we expect it to be cold but sunny and it never quite is; rain always seems to catch us off guard and dampen the season. Anyway, this is a quick outfit post of something I put together recently right before I was due to get my fringe trimmed (as you can see it is sneakily pinned back to hide my shame).

Like many things in Gorman, I had lusted over this dress until I found it on sale earlier this year. It is the perfect drop-waist dress made from a super soft but firm cotton with the most perfectly positioned pockets (for a dress anyway). As it has been getting colder it has been getting neglected quite seriously but on this warmer day I decided to whip it out to celebrate. It does have a boat neckline and angular sleeves so it needs strict guidance when under a jacket.

OOTD | Thoroughly Modern Foxes

 Mint Knit Top - Thrifted / High Waisted Faux-Suede Shorts - Princess Polly / Cream Loose-Knit Cardigan - Thrifted / Angora Wool Socks - Gift / Brown Leather Lace-ups - R.M. Williams / Sunglasses - Sportgirl

For the past few months I've literally been living out of a suitcase. 80% of my clothes have either been at my parent's home in Victoria or in storage just out of my reach. Having recently moved I have been unpacking and rekindling (or regretting purchasing) a lot of my much missed wardrobe. This outfit is probably the first of many to come styled using clothes that I had forgotten I owned but have missed so much.

OOTD | I French You Not

Striped Polo Neck Top - Thrifted / Black Jersey Maxi Skirt - Barkins / Brown Leather Loafers - Shag Vintage / Brown Leather Belt - Thrifted / Black Leather Messenger Bag - Thrifted / Red-Heart Pendant - GOGO PHILIP / Sunglasses - Sportsgirl / L'Absolu Rouge 151 Lipstick- Lancôme

Oh Winter, you always come around too fast. There never seems to be a long enough gap of glorious weather between Summer and the season of frozen fingers and toes. In today's OOTD I'm taking serious advantage of this weather. It's still warm enough to wear a thin maxi skirt but its also cool enough that I can wear three a quater sleeve, polo neck, all black and not combust.

OOTD | Surprising Comfort

Oversized knit top - thrifted / Cuffed patterned pants - thrifted / Loafers - Shag Vintage / Amethyst pendant - Corky Saint Clair / Messenger bag - thrifted / 'Over' matte lipstick - Illamasqua / Sunglasses - Sportsgirl / Snake thumb ring - Tree of Life

As my wardrobe is developing as I age, I realise the high percentage of it that is second hand. Today's outfit is a darn good example of that. Jess and I recently went an op shopping trip and ended up with a haul of 20+ items between us. The knit top and pants are two of the items I found and I never thought I'd be making an outfit for the blog from them. I popped them on this morning out of a desire for extreme comfort and was pleasantly surprised with how nicely they complimented each other.
