OOTD | Spring Wallpapers

Dress - vintage via Can You Keep a Secret? / belt and bag - thrifted / The Jackson Sunglasses by *MKL Accessories - Karmaloop / Mary Jane shoe by Dr Martens - Downes Shoes, Fortitude Valley / Cutlery earrings - Covert Designs by Claire Woodfield

Another sunny day off out and about with Jess, and this time Honor (!), and another outfit that is anything but a work uniform. Jess was the one that found this dress hanging in a $20 rack at our favourite vintage haunt, Can You Keep a Secret?, and told me to hurry myself along to try it on. Obviously, I loved it and today was definitely not its first outing. What is there not to love? The fabric, the pockets, the way the stripes change direction, and the super-simple cut. This dress could not be more 'me'.

This is also the first outfit in which I've worn my Dr Marten Mary Jane sandals. They have taken me a while longer than predicted to wear in but I love them so much; and I'd want to as I wear them to work every day. These super comfortable shoes fit my orthotics (what of it?) but also maintain ultimate cuteness at the same time.

Accessories wise, I kept it fairly simple. The belt to maintain the bloused top of the dress, my black messenger bag to carry essential bits, the Covert earrings because I am obsessed and my *MKL sunglasses as a 'change' from my regular Sportsgirl staples.

Also, how great is big hair? I was feeling particularly Carrie Bradshaw (early seasons) this morning when I did my hair. I am really loving how much extra volume I can gain now my hair is growing out.

Hope you're having super awesome weeks!

OOTD | How They Flow

Ben Caplan band t-shirt (with sleeves cut-off) / Burgandy Maxi Skirt - vintage Laura Ashley / The Jackson Sunglasses by *MKL Accessories - Karmaloop / Loafers - vintage via Shag Vintage / harmonica pendant - Corky Saint Clair / Eternal Lilac 210 gel nail polish by Maybelline New York

Happy Spring lovely readers! It's finally the perfect time of year for my favourite kind of garment: maxi skirts. This particularly gorgeous skirt was found on an op-shopping adventure several years ago and I have been loving it ever since. It is an old Laura Ashley piece made from a lovely crepe silk. I love the way it drapes and how it shimmers in the sun shine.

The top is a piece of merchandise from a very beardy musician that Jess and I discovered at Woodford Folk Festival last year. Ben Caplan had some glorious shirts and this was my favourite; I love how wave-like and peaceful his beard looks.

Hope you're all enjoying this beautiful warm weather. It is my favourite time of year. What have you been waiting all winter to wear in the warmer months?

OOTD | Rekindled Love

Shift dress - Can You Keep a Secret / Anorak - Gorman / Belt - thrifted / Loafers - Shag Vintage / Bangle - gifted and not branded

Hello spring, it's ever so nice to see you peeking around the corner. I wait all year from this kind of weather and it's very slowly creeping into the end of winter.

I am again rocking my favourite loafers which I hope to get as much wear out of before it's too hot for leather shoes in the summer.

The denim anorak you see is from my favourite designer, Gorman, and has seen far too little wear since I purchased it. It is a little bit too oversized and can be kind of awkward to wear but it still has me head over heels for it's casual-chic charm. It's been too cold to wear it this winter but I will definitely be letting it see more sunshine when spring rocks around.

I picked this simple summer dress up in a sale at my favourite vintage store, Can You Keep a Secret? a few months back and have never really worn it either. Ditto for the belt which I think I found thrift shopping one day.

I will definitely going to make more use of these garments, especially the anorak, this spring. I love the combination of a light block coloured jacket with a cutesy print like the gum-nut/eucalyptus on this dress.

Happy hump-day!

Recipe | Sea Salted Rosemary Pita Chips

Here in Australia, where the summer starts early and our culture is largely outdoors, having a few nibbles at dusk on the veranda, balcony or by the pool is ritual. I've recently been trying to make a lot of basics for my friends and I to enjoy and I realised that chip and bread components are ridiculously easy and simple to make in bulk and keep for when you need them. It can also be a lot healthier when you know what ingredients are used and eliminate the nasty artificial flavouring that is in much of the similar products you purchase from the grocery store.
