Mother's Day sales are a beautiful thing. Not only are there some great pamper packs for sale but you can normally manage to pick up products all girls like to buy year round for great prices. I picked up a 50ml bottle of Bulgari's Jasmin Noir eau de parfum on Friday and thought I'd share my thoughts on it. I hadn't smelt it before but I couldn't walk past a jasmine based perfume; the $45 price-tag made it hard to resist too.

Scent | Versace Pour Femme

I finally did it. I chose and purchased my first bottle of perfume. Up until now all the perfume in my life has been selected and bought for me by others and I was completely satisfied. However, my array of perfumes seems to be coming to a dry end with no refill in sight. For the last few months I have been trying to find a scent that I like enough to justify the investment in.
Welcome Versace's Pour Femme into my perfume family. I found this 30mL bottle in Priceline for around $40 and completely stoked. It is a very floral scent with base notes of patchouli, which I love. It reminds me of a spicy version of Marc Jacobs Daisy and after a few moment on the skin all you can smell is roses and blossoms.
I am head over heels in love with this perfume and will definitely be purchasing a 100mL bottle when this little sucker runs out. Do you know of any similar scents I might be interested in? I have such a hard time finding ones I like.
Happy Sunday!

Scent | Paco Rabanne '1 Million'
Hi lovelies! It probably is no surprise, but I am not the girliest of girls. Recently I have been on the hunt for a new perfume, and disappointed by the floral, sugary offerings in the ladies' section I turned to the colognes.

Seasonals | Scents
L'Occitane Jasmin & Bergamote Eau De Toilette (available here)
I noticed today that the Jacarandas are finally blooming in Brisbane (not that its late in the year for this kind of activity - early, actually) and got to thinking about how much I miss the beauty of spring throughout the year. I'm a sucker for nature's flora bottled and ready for my nose and body. These are some of my new favourite floral scents at the moment.
First up we have this accidental find by L'Occitane that my mother bought instead of the hand lotion in the same scent. She offered it to me and I have little to no ability to turn down free perfume. This is a lovely floral scent, very light overall and not what I would call sweet; the Jasmine is very dominant. I'm not exactly a perfume expert so I can't ramble on about the subtleties of this product but I can say that I love it. It lingers around for hours on end which I know is definitely a good thing. The packaging does allow you to get carried away with it your application. It sprays a lot wider than most I've had before.
This is getting me a few steps closer to those beautiful Jo Malone scents (oh my god) that are sadly very out of my price range.
BX Earth Good Morning Sunshine Body Wash with Lemon Myrtle and Crown of Gold Extract and Hand Care Wash in Desert Lime and Coconut*
I've already acknowledged my love for BX Earth's natural and amazingly scented products (here). Having now tested out the rest of their range I am totally converted. Aside from their witty names, they seem to have a knack for combining some really lovely scents. I will admit that there are a few that don't hit home with me as I can't go overly sweet when fruity flavours are involved but, again, I am a sucker for florals as well as intense natural citrus. Bright citrus scents are always so rejuvenating in the morning and are definitely a must have for spring and summer. My favourites in this range also emphasise Australian natives like lemon myrtle, Kakadu plum and desert lime. Australian flora ranks very highly in books as my family's heritage reigns from the dry western countryside and it reminds me of my grandmother's favourite flowers.
Like I said in my previous post, I found Hey Settle Petal in Coles and am pretty sure the rest of their range is available there too. If you see them I totally recommend picking some up because they're super cheap considering the quality of the product. Let me know if you do and we can compare our favourite scents.

At Home | Bamboo Baby
Another Saturday, another day to wander around and purchase random goodies. Last week it was the 9th-wonder-of-the-world doona jacket. This week, it was some home freshening delights from a little 'old worldy' boutique near my new home. I knew I didn't want to spend a lot but also that I wanted to buy something completely unnecessary. Surprisingly, the shop was amazingly well priced and I walked out having made a very small $26.80 dent in my wallet.
What you see here is a refill bottle for a fragrance diffuser with which I going to break all of the rules. As much as I love fragrance diffusers, I can be fairly impatient with the speed that I attain a fragrance and, frankly, they simply do not act fast enough. Hence, I purchased the teeny tiny atomiser you see to the right of it. If you're wondering what 'Bamboo Forest' smells like, imagine the scent you inhale when you walk into a cold room at the flower markets. That sudden burst of natural fragrance is what Ashleigh and Burwood have manage to bottle and put at my fingertips for an instant and lingering freshness. Not quite bamboo but so much better.
The third item you see above is a bar of himalayan salt soap, something I've never tried before. They had quite a range of products made from this but this bar looked the most straight forward and versatile to use. I haven't tried it yet but have advice from the sales assistant to be fairly gentle with this product. I only really plan to use it on my tougher skin i.e. elbows, feet etc. I will definitely update you on this product if I find it either amazing or horrible.
Hope you're all enjoying you weekends.
