OOTD | Surprising Comfort

Oversized knit top - thrifted / Cuffed patterned pants - thrifted / Loafers - Shag Vintage / Amethyst pendant - Corky Saint Clair / Messenger bag - thrifted / 'Over' matte lipstick - Illamasqua / Sunglasses - Sportsgirl / Snake thumb ring - Tree of Life

As my wardrobe is developing as I age, I realise the high percentage of it that is second hand. Today's outfit is a darn good example of that. Jess and I recently went an op shopping trip and ended up with a haul of 20+ items between us. The knit top and pants are two of the items I found and I never thought I'd be making an outfit for the blog from them. I popped them on this morning out of a desire for extreme comfort and was pleasantly surprised with how nicely they complimented each other.

You'll find a more detailed post on the loafers (which have been dubbed my grandpa shoes) here, details on my messenger bag here, and my amethyst chain here

I feel this outfit is a good representation of Brisbane's transition from stinking hot summers to its sublime autumns. It's cool enough to wear a thin knit during the day and night with nice cotton pants and closed in leather shoes. I love that I can put on warmer heat insulating fabrics but not have to worry about excessive layering or being frost bitten. It really is a beautiful time of year in this part of the world.

I've never been a big fan of pants in my wardrobe but these are definitely a turning point for me. They are so comfortable I thought I'd only ever wear them around the house. However, when I cuff them they transform into a much more versatile piece especially when combined with an oversized top. I wore this outfit on Sunday and when it came to going to bed I almost forgot they weren't my pijamas.

What are your go to clothes for comfort and style combined?
