Red Anorak - Barkins / I Heart NY Shirt - Gift / Black High-Waisted Shorts - thrifted / Holographic 'Foreal' Flatforms - Wittner / Sunglasses - Sportsgirl / High Impact 12 Red-y to Wear Lipstick - Clinique / Raspberry Nail Polish - Barry M
Who didn't want an 'I heart NY' shirt after the Olsen twin's sassy adventure flick "New York Minute." In a recent wardrobe clean out I rediscovered this bright anorak and thought they'd make a super duo. Embarrassingly, I have never actually been to New York but it was purchased by a super great friend on a trip she took there in high school.
I find the simple colour combination of black, white and red suits me well; my fair skin seems to makes the reds even brighter. I sort of wish I'd had these clothes in the same place at the same time during Autumn as I didn't get the chance to utilise the anorak this year - definitely can't wait for next year to come around. Sadly, even though it's Spring, we've entered temperatures in Brisbane that are making long sleeves unnecessary and uncomfortable.
The shorts were originally long slacks but I knew they would be the perfect canvas for some super nice tailored shorts. I love them but they definitely look better with heeled shoes as opposed to flat ones.
If you're interested in seeing my D.I.Y for cuffing thrifted shorts, let me know in the comments. It is that time of year again where I have my eyes peeled for pants to alter for the hot house that is Brisbane's summertime.
