Blue Seahorse Embroidered Blouse - Thrifted / Pink A-Line Skirt - Barkins / Brown Belt - Thrifted / White Bobby Socks - eBay / Brown Loafers - Shag Vintage / Sunglasses - Sportsgirl
How I wish I was horsing around at this time of the week. This shirt is one of those garments you discover, fall in love with, can't live without but hardly ever wear. When I found this piece in one of my most rummaged thrift stores I could not let it go. The fabric is beautifully soft, light and well made. The embroidery is equally as stunning with what looks to be delicate beads that have lasted quite well (although, I haven't worn it a whole lot). Also, the buttons down the front are gorgeous gold seashells tying the marine theme of the item together very nicely.
As I am sure you are quickly learning, I am a very easily suckered in by fancy prints and embellishments on vintage garments. Shopping with me is a nightmare if these things are involved (ask Jess) and I often pick up things that are clearly not my size and form an irrational emotional attachment to them. This is one of those items. I do not wear it all too often because it falls into the too-oversized-oversized category. I was culling my wardrobe recently and Jess and Honor told me if I had to let it go, it needed to feature here first. I've since decided against culling this shirt; go figure.
I'm fairly excited for these warmer days we are having recently because they do not necessitate the need for stockings. I love socks and we only have a few months of the year where they are super comfortable to wear - not too hot and not too cold. I've got a whole heap of graphic socks sitting in baskets on so many online stores its a little ridiculous.
The rest of the outfit is pretty straightforward and is worn fairly regularly. All except my hair! In a pony tail! This is the first time in about a year my hair has been long enough to tie up with minimal bobby pins. I must say I'm more than a little excited.
Is anyone else super partial to shiny embellishments on clothing? I cannot stay away.
Happy hump day!
