Passion for Fashion Competition

I think it comes with the territory of being a fashion blogger that you're addicted to shopping. Sadly for me basic necessities like food and phone bills often get in the way of my addiction. When I heard about Money Supermarket's competition on the lovely Olivia's blog I knew it was the perfect way to satisfy my shopping itch and not spend a dime. Here are the three outfits I've designed below, if anyone fancies entering it is open internationally (link here) and I would love to see your fantasy outfits in the comments.

Crop River Island £35 / Denim Crop River Island £30 / Maxi Skirt Topshop £20 / Socks Topshop £4 / Boots Topshop £70 / Casio Urban Outfitters £28

Total Spent = £187

Down under it is just cooling off after a long, steamy summer so this outfit is perfect for autumn (or an English spring ;)). I am currently lusting over the entirety of the Rihanna for River Island collection. I've never been a big fan of Rihanna's music but after this collaboration I definitely have a bit of a style crush going on. The turtleneck has a split down the back which I think is a really nice detail and the denim crop is the perfect way to wear denim in the warmer weather. Maxis make an awesome staple year round and the side splits allow everyone to see the most important part of your outfit, the shoes (duh). I have been loving patterned and colourful socks of late and have been snapping them up off eBay left, right and centre. They add a delightful pop of colour to my rather neutral wardrobe. Finally the Casio, once you start wearing a watch regularly you can never go back. I feel slightly naked if I ever forget mine and a Casio is a affordable alternative as Michael Kors wasn't quite within the £200 budget.

Dress Motel £58 / Shoes Jeffrey Campbell £105/ Tights ASOS £8 / Bag ASOS £16

Total Spent - £187

For my party look I designed something I would wear on a night out during the winter. Though Brisbane is not the coolest of climates it gets rather chilly on a night out and lugging around a coat isn't my idea of fun. I thought the outfit would allow me to party into the wee-hours of the morning without turning into an icicle. This dress from Motel. Let us all take a minute to admire its perfection. I would buy one of these and wear it to the supermarkets, just because I could. Sadly I have never been able to justify the price as it looks like a piece with limited wearability. For me it just isn't a party without Jeffrey Campbell. These shoes are a fairly quiet pair by his standards, but I feel they balance out the dress. I kept everything in the black family with regards to accessories when your dress is a disco ball it's kind of a necessity. I can't stand clutches, I hate not having my hands free, so this little messenger fit the bill nicely. And the tights have the appearance of knee high stockings without the annoyance of constantly hitching up your stockings.

Top H&M £6.99 / Jeans Topshop £36 / Shoes Converse £42.99 / Beanie Lazy Oaf  £20 / Backpack Lazy Oaf  £55

Total Spent - £160.98

Having just come out of the summer season I wasn't feeling too inspired by the floaty maxis and the floral prints working their way into stores overseas. I figured this would be an outfit I would wear if I were to take a trip down to Melbourne for shopping and sightseeing. I have been lusting over the Joni Jeans since their release, they look a perfect dupe for the American Apparel Easy Jeans and with Unidays currently running a 20% off Topshop promo I think it won't be long until they're mine. Basic black tees are something I love to throw in my luggage as they go with everything and don't crumple. In this case I would probably tie this tee into a knot and form a makeshift crop top. As you can see in the accessories my monochrome obsession doesn't show any sign of stopping. The beanie is adorable and now that my hair is a touch longer I feel that beanies suit me more. The backpack is another shopping essential for me. As I said above I hate not having my hands free and this allows me to rifle through clothing racks to my heart's content. Finally Converse, I have been needing a new pair for years. My current pair have holes in, but they are the comfiest shoes I own so I refuse to let them go.

Well there you have it folks. If I were to suddenly acquire £600 pounds that's what I would rush off to buy. Of course this might be completely different tomorrow, an addict's work is never done ;).

What's on your wishlist?

Jess xx
